The Indian Premier League 2024 is scheduled to begin at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, on March 22. The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL opener.

As per the BCCI, 21 matches will be played over the period of 17 days which will be held between March 22 to April 7. The remainder of the schedule will be released once the Indian general election dates are announced.
IPL 2024 team list
Royal Challengers Bangalore are scheduled to play five matches, while Delhi Capitals will play only two in this partial schedule. Delhi Capitals will play both their home games in Visakhapatnam.

Hardik Pandya, who will be leading the Mumbai Indians in this edition, will face his former team Gujarat Titans on March 24.
In-form Yashasvi Jaiswal, representing Rajasthan Royals, will be seen in action against Lucknow Super Giants in the afternoon match of the double-header on March 24.

The battle between the two most expensive players in the tournament, Australia’s Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins, will be on March 23 when Kolkata Knight Riders begin their campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad at home.
The BCCI has scheduled four double-headers in the first phase of the tournament.
